The in-house figure is the median salary for network and computer systems administrators (BLS OEWS May 2025 via O*NET OnLine, Naples-Marco Island, FL: $100,490) divided by 0.70, because benefits are 30% of total compensation (BLS Employer Costs for Employee Compensation, June 2026). This is our calculation. Licenses, hardware and projects are extra either way, and one person cannot cover every hour.

- MDR is round-the-clock threat watching and containment by an outside security team, who act on alerts from a company's computers and accounts rather than leaving warnings for busy staff to read.
Managed IT services in Naples: cost and the local wage premium
A 25-person Naples office on a managed plan pays about $2,500 to $6,250 a month at the published per-seat rates 12. The cheapest tiers open at about $100 to $125 per user, and security-rich tiers reach $200 to $300 2.
Naples stands out in Southwest Florida because the in-house route costs more than the national norm. Systems administrators here earned a $100,490 median in May 2025, $17,740 more than in Cape Coral-Fort Myers, and help desk specialists $61,090 36. BLS data puts benefits at 30% of compensation 7, so a single sysadmin costs about $143,600 a year on our calculation, nearly double the most expensive managed plan for 25 users. That sum would pay for managed IT for about 48 users at $250 a seat, or about 120 at $100. See what managed IT tiers include before comparing quotes.
Collier County's resort, medical and device economy
Hospitality is a major piece of the Naples economy and was its largest payroll sector before the pandemic, at about 20% of jobs 12. In August 2026 the metro had 31,600 leisure and hospitality jobs, about 18% of 174,500 nonfarm jobs, nearly level with trade, transportation and utilities at 31,900 (preliminary) 9. Education and health services had 28,200, and construction with mining and logging 20,300 9. HUD's 2021 profile, older than the other data on this page, put 2019 overnight visitors at 1.9 million and the total tourism impact at $2.3 billion 12.
Two health employers stand out. NCH, a not-for-profit network of two hospitals and dozens of outpatient sites, reports 4,095 employees and nearly 1,100 physicians and allied health professionals 10. Arthrex, a medical device maker founded in 1981 that builds minimally invasive surgical technology, has its global headquarters in Naples and manufactures in Florida, South Carolina and California 11. In HUD's 2021 employer list, NCH, Publix and Arthrex led private employers 12.
Of Collier County's 14,541 employer establishments in 2023, 2,348 had 10 to 49 workers and 517 had 50 to 249 4. Most local firms are small, so a provider that serves a 15-person office well matters more here than enterprise reach.

Get my Naples quoteFlorida breach rules for Naples businesses and practices
Florida's deadline is 30 days, starting when the business determines, or comes to suspect, that a breach occurred 5. A breach touching 500 or more Floridians also requires a report to the Department of Legal Affairs inside that 30-day window 5. The statute also requires reasonable steps to secure electronic personal information and proper disposal of records 5.
Florida's definition of personal information is broad, which matters to the clinics and resorts common in Naples. Beyond the usual Social Security and account numbers, it reaches passport numbers, military IDs, login credentials for online accounts, and medical or health insurance details 5. Biometric data and geolocation information were added effective July 1, 2024 16, so data from a fingerprint time clock or a location-tracking app can now count.
Florida's Digital Bill of Rights is aimed at companies with at least $1 billion in global revenue that also pass one of three narrow tests 14, which leaves Naples's small firms outside it. Florida ranked third for IC3 complaints in 2025 with 71,843 and third for losses at about $1.60 billion 15. See our Florida breach notification summary and, for practices, the HIPAA breach notification rule.
Managed detection and response for Naples firms
Naples firms that cannot staff a security team usually get the most from managed detection and response, where outside analysts watch alerts day and night. A 2026 SOC pricing review puts mainstream MDR at $8 to $25 per endpoint monthly 17, on top of endpoint software such as Microsoft Defender for Business at $3 per user a month 18. A 25-person office protecting 30 devices would spend roughly $240 to $750 a month on MDR at that range.
Email deserves equal attention. Email started 43% of the incidents At-Bay handled in 2024, and its email-related claims rose 30% 19. Hotels and restaurants that staff up for busy months add risk, because temporary workers get accounts quickly and are easy to forget when they leave. Card-taking businesses should also review PCI compliance costs, and our MDR buyer's page explains how contracts work.
IT support in Naples: co-managed help for larger employers
Larger Naples employers with their own IT staff, from medical groups to device suppliers, can keep those people and bring in outside monitoring and overnight coverage through a co-managed arrangement. One provider's 2026 guide prices that from $45 to $175 per user monthly as scope grows 20, and co-managed IT shows how duties divide. Suppliers to medical device makers should also ask how design files and customer portals are protected, since those are the records a competitor or criminal would want.
Choosing IT services in Naples
Ask Naples bidders first how a technician reaches your office and how quickly. Collier County counted 167 computer systems design establishments in 2023 13, a modest local bench, so some bidders will be based in Fort Myers or on the east coast.
Other questions for each Naples provider:
-
Who watches security alerts overnight, and what can they do without calling us?
-
Will you sign a BAA before touching any patient records?
-
How do you open and close accounts for seasonal staff hired for the busy months?
-
What do we receive, and how fast, if we cancel?
More are in our provider selection guide. Fort Myers, the next metro north, pays its IT staff less, while Fort Lauderdale and Miami cover the east coast; the city index has every other city.
